FAQ: Wanderer's Guide to Merchants & Magic (5E)
For the most up-to-date information about the status of our project, check our project updates on Kickstarter!

How do I pay for shipping?

Shipping costs are not included in the pledges for physical rewards. After the Kickstarter ends – and we have confirmed the page count and weight of the final book and thus the actual price for shipping – we will send out a survey through a pledge manager where you will be able to pay for shipping.

Shipping Cost Estimates

Below are estimated costs for shipping for the most popular locations. Please note that these estimates are subject to change as the final costs for shipping will be calculated based on the weight/page count of the finished book and your specific address once the campaign has ended.

HARDCOVER/ITEM CARDS SHIPPING ESTIMATES* Hardcover books are printed in the EU and shipped to fulfillment centers in the rest of the world before shipping locally at the following estimated rates:

US – 10 USD UK – 12 GBP EU** – 12+ EUR CANADA – 22 CAD AUSTRALIA – 22 AUD NEW ZEALAND – 24 NZD REST OF THE WORLD – 35+ EUR

These estimates are for a hardcover book OR a deck of item cards – for combined orders (hardcover + item card deck) expect a 20-25% increase in shipping costs.

*Hardcover and item card deck orders are US, UK, EU, CANADA, AUS, and NZ–friendly, which means the estimates include everything – no unexpected GST/VAT/DUTY fees and surcharges! ** Shipping prices vary greatly in the EU and can reach up to 25+ EUR for remote regions and islands. Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, etc. are among cheaper shipping destinations.

SOFTCOVER SHIPPING ESTIMATES Softcover books are printed and shipped by DriveThruRPG.com***. You can find their shipping estimates for most countries here (less than 256 pages): https://support.drivethrurpg.com/hc/en-us/articles/209936893-Estimated-Shipping-Costs

***Please be aware that VAT, GST, & customs surcharges are a risk when ordering from DriveThruRPG, especially for EU-citizens.

How many pages will the book have?

Wanderer’s Guide to Merchants & Magic will be at least 100 pages long. It will likely be considerably longer as new stretch goals add more content, but we don’t want to make promises we can’t keep!

What adventures do I get with the Adventure PDF Pack (5E) add-on?

The Adventure PDF Pack (5E) includes two adventures by Eventyr Games: A Heart of Cold and The Wyrm’s Lie.

A Heart of Cold is a setting neutral 3-6 hour adventure for 5E that can be run for parties of 4th-7th-level. It’s an arctic tale of betrayal, revenge, and forgiveness that has the heroes facing curious goblins, terrible undead, an evil druid, and an ice banshee in order to save the townsfolk of a small hamlet in an icy dale.

You can get more information about A Heart of Cold here: https://eventyrgames.com/product/a-heart-of-cold/

The Wyrm’s Lie is a setting-neutral 4-8 hour adventure for the fifth edition of the world’s most popular tabletop roleplaying game that can be run for parties of 7th–15th level, featuring draconic deception, questions of morality, fanatical lizardfolk, and deadly dragons!

You can get imore information a bout The Wyrm’s Lie here: https://eventyrgames.com/product/the-wyrms-lie/

If you select the 5E Adventure Pack as an add-on you will get access to the two adventures before Wanderer’s Guide to Merchants & Magic is finished.

The two adventures can already be bought from our website, but when getting them as an add-on on Kickstarter you don’t just get them at 50% discount as we will revisit and enhance the art and layout of the adventure before sending them out to our backers.

Will Wanderer’s Guide to Merchants & Magic be available as a VTT-module?

The short answer is yes! We expect that Wanderer’s Guide to Merchants & Magic will be available on Foundry and are currently figuring out the best way to make it happen. We are also working on publishing it as a module on Roll20 and Fantasy Grounds.

VTT-licenses will be made available as add-ons through our pledge manager after the Kickstarter campaign.

Who gets the unlocked stretch goals?

All the stretch goals we reach – from extra merchants to side-quests and NPC cards – will be included with any reward tier that gets the book (regardless of format). So if your pledge includes the book in PDF, softcover, or hardcover, you will receive all the content that has been unlocked through stretch goals!

Do I need to pay for the add-ons if they're already included in my reward?

If you have pledged for a reward that includes the add-ons (pre-printed item cards, printable item cards, and the 5E PDF Adventure Pack), you don’t need to also add them as add-ons – that would just mean paying for them twice. Unfortunately, Kickstarter’s interface doesn’t block you from doing so, making it seem like you need to pay for them twice. You don’t!

Below is an overview of which rewards include which add-ons:

Digital Add-ons (printable item cards + 5E Adventure PDF Pack): Early Bird, Premium Bundle, Enchanter, and Merchant bundles.

Physical Add-ons (pre-printed item cards): Premium, Enchanter, and Merchant bundles.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
